Complete a note and add to it afterwards

3 min read

Completing a note locks it, so the patient record always shows what was written at the time. You need to be online to complete a note.

The complete button sits with the note's save buttons. It reads Complete note, or Save & complete on a saved draft. If the note has sections, choose Next section until you reach the last one, where the button appears.

Add something you missed

Open the completed note and choose Add to note. An addition is stamped with your name and time. It cannot be edited or removed, so read it once before you save.

A note that should not be there

If the whole note is wrong, for example it was written for the wrong patient, mark it entered in error and give the reason. It stays in the record with that reason, and is left out of summaries, suggestions and shares. Open links to it stop working. This cannot be undone.

A patient summary, a PDF or a letter can only be made from a completed note.
